Finished up the front access area on the canoe. Added a non skid foam to the front deck and foot braces underneath.

Very nice! I am going to share this link with some of my friends that have canoes. That is a neat setup you have in the front. I have never seen one with the vents and feet rests.

Cool. Nice work! I think Old Town should come knocking on your door for ideas.

There is another forum called "riverbassin" that used to be very active with members that posted lots of mod ideas for canoes. The OT guide pack, OT guide 119, like mine, and the kay-noe from field & stream were all very popular before the kayak industry started mass producing the new generation "angler" sit on top kayaks.
Some of the members were very creative in how they set up their canoes for fishing. I took some of their ideas and modified them to fit my needs for fly fishing rather than spin or bait casting .
If your looking to buy a fishing kayak or canoe, spend some time looking through some of the old post on that forum first. I went with the canoe setup and rigged it the way I wanted , rather than spending $1200 on a factory rigged kayak. The first time you drag that hull over a shoal, you wont feel so bad!

I've been considering picking up one of these at Dicks for a couple years now. The more time I spend fishing for warm water fish, the closer I come to pulling the trigger. Thanks for the updates.
