Where is the best place to fish for bass around (near) Townsend?

Hey Uncle Bob, welcome to the board. It depends. If you want to fish for smallies in a stream, Little River has plenty. They are more plentiful downstream from Townsend toward Maryville. I've seen photos of 6 pounders caught out of Little River on plugs. The Little Pigeon in Sevier County is also excellent. There are several lakes near here and you can catch largemouth or smallmouth bass. Are you using a boat or do you intend to wade? Byron

Here is a Little River smallie caught downstream from Townsend last summer. Sorry for the editing. Couldn't give away the landmark, although the original picture was shown on WVLT news "Wensdays Whoopers" so I'm sure plenty of other people saw it. This fish was 22" long. Got my smallmouth citation for her.

Wow! That is one awesome fish! I believe I feel smallie fever coming on :P. I've got to start fishing for them more. So where exactly was that fish caught again? :P 8-) Anyway, great fish!!!David Knapp
