A day in the Smokies

I finally got this picture off the camera and thought I would share. I was fishing Little River about a week ago and caught this nice little brown out of a deep pocket on a parachute Adams. He was probably about 8 or 9 inches. Later in the day I got into a great hatch at Tremont and nailed several 'bows out of one pool including a nice 10 incher. That fish decided it didn't want to stay around to get a picture so I didn't push the issue and let it swim away happily. Most of the fish caught were on a parachute Adams, especially in an #18 up Tremont.

I also saw a pair of geese on LR. Here is a picture I managed (slightly blurry )
And now for a question, do geese nest on the LR? I've seen them along LR road fairly often and I'm now curious if some of them are there year-round to nest? Anyone ever found a nest? Maybe we need to use a baby goose pattern for the BIG browns ...

I can't answer the question regarding the geese, but I like the picture. Thanks for sharing.

I wasn't clear in my initial post, but I was referring to the trout also.

Last year in early May I almost tripped over a nesting goose near Elkmont. The male was hanging around across the river (only inches from the road, I wondered why) and the female scared the crap out of me when she hissed. I have a great deal of respect for those things and their ability to kick your butt...
