Default N.C. side of the Park

Fished Thurs. and Friday of last week on the Oconolufte and Straight Fork. Bridge work on Straight Fork ran me off on Friday, but oh what mayfly hatches on the big river. I fished below Smokemont and saw a great March Brown hatch, sulphurs, little yellow stones and even light cahils. No real big fish, but a lot of strong 10-12 in. rainbows. Hot fly was #12 copper John and variations thereof. Saw Green Drakes over on the upper Nantahla on Wed. It was more Mayflys than I have seen in years. Maybe there is a little hope!! Peace to you all.
