Default abrams creek-trying it again 'cause of its "rep"

Coming to the Smokies last of this month--am going to fish abrams for a day or 2--starting at the campgrounds--have always has some luck in this stream-have done best with #14 or smaller adams--but--this stream has a reputation as being one of the best in the east--Any suggestions?--I have caught many bows and an occasional smallmouth--but--they are usually small fish--8"to10"--I have read and been told that abrams is the home of many nice sized trout. My tackle is light (3wt-rod7'0")and i use small flies because i like dry fly fishing--I have other rods 4wts and 5wts--I am wondering wheather to use bigger flys for bigger fish--I like to nymph--have caught a few trout on copper johns--one day i caught about 20 bows all under 10 inches on nymphs in april.are the larger fish there?
