Default altitude and the Smokies

does anyone know which of the park's streams originate at the highest altitudeand in general flows at an altitude higer than the other streamsIs there an altitude too high for brook trout in the park

I don't have any evidence but I can give it a guess. Roaring Fork. I have heard that some streams above 5000ft suffers from the acid rain problem. I.e. the eggs won't develop so no new fish.
