I've always been so jealous of all you guys on the site talking about having days of double digit fish and just monster days out on the water.
Well today was my biggest in my short fly fishing career. I landed 10 and missed probably that many fishing the Duck river below Normandy Dam. It was GREAT! I had a ton of fun. Only about 3 of them would have been considered keepers (I've always release fish), but it was just a blast catching fiesty trout. The big boy I caught was a nice 13 inch rainbow. He was a lot of fun landing. Anyway...it was just nice to have "one of those days" I've heard so much about. By the way...I caught them on a simple BH WB (olive)...never needed to change flies the few hours I was there. Another side note that struck me...I was surrounded by spin fisherman and I never saw anybody else catch a fish. Take care. dw

Glad you had a nice day on the water! It is always a great feeling to be tearing 'em up when no one else seems to be doing any good...

I almost went to the Elk that day, but I'm closer to the Duck by about 30 minutes.
I'll take you up on that sometime. I caught my one and only brown down there. I really like that river. dw
