Caney and the Dam

What is with the Caney, I hear no fishermen is this true! inform me .

Caney is being drawn down to winter lake level and all this rain isn't helping. *Was there several weeks back before all this generaton started and had a great day. *Fished 'big and ugly" w/ my 5wt in the hopes of landing some monsters but only managed some smaller rainbows. *Had a huge brown roll over my clouser just as it hit the water but he decided it was not worth his effort. *Great day on the water,probably C&R 25. *Looking forward to getting back there.

The generation has been 24-7 lately but like Grumpy says, if you can get a boat in it's fishing pretty good. We've been doing well fishing streamers on sink tips 100 to 250 grain. Fish them a little slower then summer. Alot of fish are hitting the fly dead drifted behind the boat.

When they arent running water and ther weather is nice there can be a lot of wade fishermen down there. Up until about two or three weeks ago I was going down there a lot and catching some fish on black bh wooly's.

Are there places to stop and wade if you take a canoe?

There are a few places but you'll be pretty limited and the fishing might not be so good on the few places you find. I can’t rule out a good day wading under generation, but your better off and safer fishing from a boat.
