Default Bunches Creek Access

Does anyone fish Bunches Creek in the park? I'm looking on my map, and the only easy access I see is from a road branching off the Blue Ridge Parkway into the park, that eventually becomes Balsam Mtn Gap Road. Is that the only way, or are there other points of access (other than in the reservation - that's stocked water, which I'm not that interested in).

I'm trying to identify as many Brookie streams as I can; I like all the fishing, but I'm nuts about them in particular.

I think you understand the limitations with the access. *Flat Creek trail will get you to Bunches but you need to go downstream a good way until after the confluence before it's big enough to fish for specs. *Otherwise it's Enterprise Waters in the reservations from the bottom.

Thanks for the reply...I was beginning to wonder if there was some sort of deep, dark secret about this stream that no one wanted to talk about .

So it's too skinny to fish, even where the trail hits it? That's too bad...while I don't mind a bit of a hike, since I don't live in the Smokies, I have to maximize my time when I'm up there. One day I'll check it out, when I have time to burn (I wonder when that will be?).
