Default opinion on SAGE Quiet DT line....

I understand that a different supplier was used for the Quiet DT II line (Rio maybe) and that the older, QDT, is/was different??
Can someone straighten me out on this one? Is the plain old Quiet (non II) DT line ok? Is it a dog? Is it too light with a 12lb core??
Any ideas??

Default Re: opinion on SAGE Quiet DT line....

I use the new QDT II on my Sage TXL 3wt - Sweeeeet!

The new Quiet Double Taper II fly line is different. *Sage custom designed the Quiet double Taper II with a reduced tip diameter, which allows you to make more delicate presentations with a shorter leader, and they narrowed the body to help you shoot the line farther. Sage designed these lines specifically for Sage TXL and SLT Series Rods. They say that these lines will enhance the performance of Winston B2T, WT and LT Series. *There claim to fame is that each line is specifically designed for each wt and not a smaller version of larger wt lines.

Never fished the old quiet double taper. If it is made by sage, it must be a good product. *

If I am not mistaken SAGE now owns RIO or is buying them out? At least that's what I heard.
