Default Rio Kahuna LT Strike indicators

OK, has anyone used these? I have some, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to use the things. The instruction are useless, at least to me. I can't be this dumb (or can I)!

Chuck, I think those are the ones that slide onto the leader. Just feed your leader through the indicator. I don't use them but I would think they're only useful with tapered leaders.

Thanks Rusty for the replay. Here is a link to the product:

http://www.rioproducts.com/product.php?recKey=88

The hole very small. So small that 7x will not fit. I must be missing something.

Chuck,

I've never used them so I'm flying blind here. Maybe if you tried to use a small sewing needle to feed it through. Like threading a bobbin. I would think that you would cut this stuff to the desired length so doing it this way would be possible. If this works, you could pre rig all your indicators with a mono loop through them. The reason Rio doesn't do this at the factory is probably because of different angler applications.

If you've got a camera that takes good close-ups, make a shot at one of the ends of the indicator. Lay a small needle or some mono beisde it for scale.

Rusty,

I figured it out. They do have a mono-like core that you put a loop in, put your leader in the loop, break-off a section of the SI and slide it over the loop onto your leader. Good for tapered leaders, not so good for furreled. Thanks!

Let me know what you think after you fish them a few times. If these things are light and they stay put, I think they'll be great.

Default Bad product

They would be a great product if they stayed on the line. They do exactly what Kahuna says, only they fall apart after one trip.
