Default Great day!

For all those that were having a slow day in the park, you shoulda been on the HI!!! The fishing is finally getting good again with the water temperature right around 50 degrees all day. Lots of fish were caught on nymphs and I even hooked (and lost) some nice ones. I saw a very nice brown feeding but couldn't get him to eat any of my offerings. Best two flies by far: BHPT and a bh black simi seal leech.

Congrats! I wish I had a nickel for every time I said, "Should have went to the HI today." How was the wind? Please say it was awful, then I might forgive myself... It was a beautiful day, but the fish wanted nothing to do with it.

No wind*, just a beautiful dead calm....

One of todays fish on the leech pattern...

*The wind was actually horrible and made casting a pain. However, if you could get the fly out, the fish would eat....

PA,

Ya, I remember the days of endless fishing excursions on the whim. Now its, hey dad, watch how far I can throw this rock! That's ok, he just got a new rod/reel and this coming weekend he's going to get a chance to use it!

Glad to hear your having some good days on the HI. Will get down there 3 or 4 times this year..

Mark...
