Default Hiwassee Trout caught w/o hook, line or rod...

Just thought I would share a first for me with ya; Friday A:M/ Big Bend, I watched an Osprey being chased by a mature Bald Eagle being chased by 2 crows all being viewed by a circling Hawk. In the middle of all this excitement the Eagle swooped down, grabbed a fish from the water and then perched in a tree and ate the fish while the crows perched close by and harassed the Eagle! The Osprey high tailed it out of the area and the Hawk kept to its own business of screaming from a distance. Might want to think twice about that "free as a bird" cliché! It's dog eat dog in the bird world too!

Nice story! I've been fortunate enough to share the water with an eagle a time or two while fishing. The most memorable I've had was in Arizona on a high-country lake. I was trying to figure out how to catch trout in a lake when a large bald eagle started circling the lake. It soon spotted its quarry and I watched as it hauled a very nice Apache trout out for dinner. Never caught a fish in that lake that particular day but it didn't matter...

Watched an Osprey fishing on the HI recently and saw several fishing yesterday...definately makes the day that much better!
