I don't want it to sound like i'm discouraging anyone from going there, because if you can then i suggest you do because it is a magnificent place. The hike is bad, but doable, and the fishing is souther appalachian brook trout fishing at it's finest, although the stream can be somewhat hazardous. There are miles and miles of stream that go untouched simply because there is no realistic access points. If you can do it, though, i highly recommend this trip, just be careful.

Great Report,
I have been back there once with a day pack and it was a hump, and like you said alot easier on the way out. I dont know if I could haul a full pack back there these days! I could not believe the impassability of the stream either. Those brookies were absolutely voracious though, many would hit several times even if they felt the hook! Great posting ! Thanks, John |
