I just bought a bamboo rod with 3 tips. With one you can turn the handle around and make a casting rod. The other two seem to be the same. I am not interested in the casting rod but it feels great as a fly rod, but the ferrules are not tight. Sometimes they slip a little occasionly, they completely come apart. Is there any cure for this or did I get took?

JG, I would find a local builder and have them check over the rod to see if its fixable. Asking at your local flyshop for names of builders and their contact info would be a good start. You could also post the question over on Clarks classic rod forum.

There's a few folks out there that can build up the male ferrule, other than that, replacement is the only option that i'm aware of.
