Default wet flies in the park

I have never tied a wetfly or fished a wet fly in the park and am curious about doing so. Does anyone use wetflies in the park? If so, what patterns? Also, does anyone have reasons why using wet flies in the park would be a good/bad idea?

I use them frequently and have for years. The majority of what I use are soft hackles. Some of my favorites are Partridge & Orange, Partridge & Yellow, Starling & Purple, Soft Hackle Pheasant Tail, and Soft Hackle Hare's Ear. Some of the classic winged wet flies I like are the March Brown, Wickham's Fancy, and Leadwing Coachman. I also like to use flymphs as emergers for some of the more prolific hatches of mayflies like BWO, Sulphurs, and Light Cahills. These type of flies are most effective during the times of year that the insects they are meant to imitate are hatching.
