Zonker strips made easy - Finally!
While While trying to tie some new redfish flies I came across an article in Fish and Fly preseason '08 regarding zonker strips. I always tried them but the tail kept getting tangled in the fly. The article mentioned a method by Peter Smith using 20lb mono. Tie in 2-3 inches, then poke a hole in the middle of the strip, feed it through, then tie it back into the hook. Worked great, and fishes great with NO tangles.
Tight Lines,
