Where to fish Abrams creek? how do you know your at the "horseshoe"?

I went fishing on Tuesday, caught several very, very small rainbows on Abrams creek. Parked at the beginning of the trail and intended on fishing the horseshoe, but had trouble finding it off the trail. Anybody know any good landmarks to indicate where to start fishing? Thanks.
