Anyone fished up there yet this year? I am planning to go this weekend but am a little concerned about the cold front. I hope it doesn't put the trout down. Doesn't it always happen like this? You plan a trip and the weather turns sour.

i fished the WPLP this weekend. saturday was pretty good even though it rained most of the day. monday and tuesday were REALLY slow. i have no good idea why. water was up but clear and temps were fine. go figure. perhaps the drought last summer hurt more than i thought

Had a decent evening. Brought 11 to hand, most in the 5-7 inch range, with one 8 inch whopper! Most were caught with a March Brown #16, with two taken on a #18 Adams. I'm only guessing but I bet it would have been a very productive day had I started around noon instead of 430.
Greenbrier is often a fickle area, so good luck. And maybe these upcoming 3o degree nights won't flip the switch.

I was there on Wednesday afternoon. The water was 56 degrees and the weather was nice. Caught lots of fish but most everything was on the small side. I was amazed at the number of small fish I caught. Mostly 5-6" fish. My average is usually 8" with a few 10" thrown in. Maybe it was last years drought.

Despite pleas from those who know better I fished the higher elevations, just below, and above, the cascade's trail bridge quite a bit last year. The brookie's were on fire, so I guess, like many have said, the brook and brown faired much better than our bows. But it is nice to see so many young bows that held on.
