MAY One fish per month challenge!!!

I missed April because I kept forgetting to take my camera.

The way this month is going, this may be my best fish of the month so her's May.




Caught on a "jeff invention" streamer - #8 hook, white maribou tail, silver tinsel wrapped up the hook shank, red metalic thread head. It's my "5 minute fly" because I can tie a few of them in about 5 minutes time.

Guys, my friend Mike and I were doing some farm pond management this morning. Look at the fish my friend Mike caught. Weighs 2.25 lbs. Clearly the largest bream that has ever been caught here on my farm. Only about 1 lb shy of the state record of 3 lbs 4 oz.

Monktrout, the Caney is in great shape with a good spread in the size of fish. Plenty of hungry fish to fool...if you're thinking of a trip, I'd do it sooner as opposed to later because I fear it is going to get hammered over the next few weeks and all those nice fish will end up heading home with people...

Dude, Hutch if that thing is 2.25lb's then I'd hate to see what the 3.5lb boy looked like! That is the biggest gill I've ever laid eyes on! That's a trophy for sure!

That gill is so big it is scary, I bet that big fella put a deep bend in the fly rod. Fun stuff....
