I guess I need more time in the stream.
I wonder if I could get a doctors note so I could leave work early when ever I wanted to throw a fly.

It's no joke...it's a physical activity. I did a bunch of hiking and fishing this weekend, and my legs are dead now.

Considering how much more I've been fishing this year, since we are recovering from the drought, I should be losing some serious weight.

Joefred, thanks for the info! I quit dipping tobacco 3 months ago and I have gained 12#. Our family will be visiting the SM's next week and plan on fishing, so maybe I will burn enough calories to lose the 12# I gained?!?

Enjoying the replies. Thanks to my son for putting me on to SparkPeople. He earned enough points recently to upgrade his fishing gear.
Another link is http://www.calorie-count.com/calories/activities/4.html . According to these folks, after an hour of wading, you can treat yourself -- with a clear conscience -- to 1.5 Snickers bars or 0.6 McDonald's Big Mac...... With cheese!!
