Default Clinch Info/Help

Heading to the Clinch later this week and need some help on what is going on up there. I will try the jail area and above/below the Weir dam. Any and all suggestions would be great. Thanks!

Default Clinch

Dear 004, I fished the jail area yesterday from noon -3:00. I had it all to myself. Caught some fish on buggers and soft hackles. Lost a good one. Did not see much sulfur activity. Saw one rise. Better fishing may be possible nearer the dam. Would like to hear from someone who has fished Miller Island and up. An olive or black bugger with a BHPT trailer might produce for you. I didn't use one but, a sink tip line might help. Sure Knots, Monk

Thanks for the tips, I will try using the buggers. I usually like to try and stay around the dam, so I will see how it goes and get back to you about it.

Fished the Jail/Church area this morning early before work(7am-9:30).

Few fishermen out today. I caught a couple decent fish on a bh hares ear. Also fished a black bugger for a short time with no strikes.

Wish I had more to report.

Fished both Millers and the jail yesterday.

Millers- 5 fish on #16 olive BHPT. 4 small brookies; 1 13" rainbow. We fished Millers from 7:00AM until 9:00AM

Jail- 10:00AM until 1:00PM, 10 fish all on a #12 Black sparkle Bugger. I rigged it up with a single split-shot about 18" above the Bugger. The fish went crazy for it. Several nice 12" to 14" rainbows and one whopper around the 19" to 21" size; we saw him for a breif second while he was in flight, then he was gone with my bugger.
Overall a very nice day of fishing.
