Default Elk today

Who says the Elk is not fishing good..............

Rainbows and browns were very active this morning. I nabbed this rainbow on a Para Adams around 7:30 AM.

I stayed until lunch and caught several more like this and some smaller browns which were fun to catch.

I think I want to go try out the Elk, what do I need to know before doing so? And that's a nice little rainbow.

Well first you might need a map if you don't know how to get there. The Elk is basically in Lynchburg, TN. (Yes - the home of Jack Daniels distillery). The tailwater is below Tim's Ford Dam.

Here is a link to the local fly shop:

http://www.timsfliesandlies.com/

Tim's Flies and Lies is a nice fly shop right in downtown Lynchburg. There is also a great place to get a Jack Daniels burger at the Iron Kettle just down the street from Tim's fly shop.

The website also has the phone number to call and check the generation schedule but here it is as well:

Call - 1-800-238-2264
When the Operator Answers Press 4
Press 50 for Tim's Ford Dam
Listen to last 8 hours of discharge, OR
Press # for future water release discharges

Thanks for the comment on the rainbow.....there were a lot more to be had on this day. I can't wait to go back one day next week.

I'll check it out, thanks. It's just about the same distance away from my house like the Caney.
