Default Terrestrial fishing
Its been a good week for fishing topwater terrestrials.
Started off last saturday fishing with a couple of friends from Christian Fly Fishers. We caught a lot of fish on beetle patterns, nothing huge, but I believe each of us got a slam. Two of my prettiest fish came on a para beetle.
This healthy brown was sipping bugs under an overhanging tree canopy.


This colorful brookie liked the beetle also.


Today, I took a long lunch break and cast for a few minutes in a little creek close to me. Caught a few redeyes and was about to leave when this smallie slammed my terrestrial popper. I've caught several good fish on it this year.

Wow what great pics. I have yet to catch a smallie on a fly rod but will soon. Thanks for the report and pics.

Troutman is being modest....
I was with him on the Christian Fly Fishers trip and he had the trout's "number" that day. Watching him cast that glass rod of his was like poetry in motion!
