No...although there are good fish in that area as well. The number of good fish in that river never ceases to amaze me. There are fish that size and better at every single major access point, its just a matter of finding them and especially finding them actively feeding where they are easy to target...

Were you fishing 5 or 6x? Hate to have to fish 6x to a fish that size!

John, the fish was rising but not steadily. I was sight fishing with subsurface midges which I enjoy almost as much if not more than sight fishing with dries... 6x tippet was the order of the day but I was using Seaguar Grand Max FX which is as strong or nearly as strong as most mono 5x tippet... Some luck did come into play also as it usually does for a fish that large... If you're ever wanting someone to fish the Caney with, let me know. I'll be limited to fishing on Sundays for awhile with school in session but have a weeklong break in October when I plan on fishing it a lot.
