Sounds good Craig. I figured I would try a more gentle gradient for my first backcountry camping trip. I have been above Mouse Creek Falls, the trail to that point kinda reminds me of the Little River and Bradley Fork trails. As far as the bear situation, with the bear population in the Park estimated at more than a thousand, I think it's a possibility wherever you go, the main thing will be to keep a clean camp and keep the fired chicken out of my tent, LOL. Sounds like it will be a busy weekend up there, but it will be cleared out by Monday. I plan on doing some hiking an exploring as well as fishing since I have never been in the upper Big Creek watershed.

when you go up big creek, about a mile up the trail there is a faint path to the right going straight up the hill....it will take you to a natural rockhouse used for shelter forever....

Sounds cool Sam. I'll have to check it out on my way back down.
