I remember reading somwhere about fishing Frozen Head State Park. I was there Saturday for a family thing and decided to explore for future refrence. I could not find water. every stream bed was completely dry. Even the areas that identify springs were only slightly moist at best. Has anyone fished there in the past? I am sure the aquatic ecosystem is toast.
Thanks, Clinchguy |

The TWRA stocks it in the spring specifically for a kids' trout fishing event. There will be a few holdovers after the rodeo weekend, but it's really not what I call a 'trout stream'. There are a few weeks of reasonable flows in the stream in April-May.

A few years ago I camped at the park and fished the creek. It was in the spring the water was flowing. We caught enough for dinner (when I say we I mean my wife, I got skunked) I knew it was stocked but that about the rodeo was news to me.
