Default Nantahala

The drive over and back was worth the trip today. From Murphy on over to the river the yellows and some reds were really showing off, especially in the upper part of the stream. Caught some brooks and a few fat rainbows....all on pheasant tails. Not much crowd.......not sure how much they stocked. Did not spot that many.

mstone,

Were you on the river Saturday at all? We were there and almost every other pull off had a car parked in it. Luckily the one's that were open all had fish.
A great day !!!

justfishing,
No, I was there on Sunday. There were not that many people on the river. I walked around in a good bit of river and some stretches were just void of any fish. Still, a great day to have been out.

Default Natahala

Plan to fish the Natahala on Monday afternoon. Sounds like the fishing is OK. Was the fishing better up or downstream? Thanks, Monktrout

It seemed as though I caught more fish up higher. I may try and get back by there on the way home next week. Starting Sunday, I will be somewhere between The Tuck and the Pigeon for a couple of days on the way up to the Soho. Yep, next week is gonna be rough.

monk,

Not sure how up or down is defined, but we were in between the first big bridge and where the road and river starts to get steep, so I would guess that is downstream. Just make sure the water is deep and moving pretty fast.
Good luck.
