Fishing Close to Johnson City
Hey Guy's,
I am starting to work in Johnson City and it looks like I will be up there more this Summer. What is the closest place to fish near JC. I will only have a few hours in the evenings to fish so it would be great if I could find a nice little hole that is less than 30 minutes from the city. Thanks, Zack Smith

The Watauga is practically in JC. multiple access points within just a few minutes of JC proper, in Elizabethton. The SoHo would be apprx 30 minutes or less.

You need to hook up with Milligan Trout Degree. He has been fishing that area for a couple of years now and appears to know the territory well.

As I was driving around there last week I drove over the Doe River quite a few times. It sure is pretty.
Do they stock it? Is it worth fishing w/ the Watauga so close by?

I grew up in Stoney Creek, practically on Watauga. I know they do stock doe river in a few places, but I'd fish Watauga. By the time you get to Doe River you're practically at the watauga.
