Default Help with new fly fisher

A friend of mine will be in town on the 16th of June. We plan to fish in the Smokies. What would you suggest we use for flies? Any suggestions on where to take him? He is from Wisconsin and is typically fishing for muskie with baits the size of the trout we hope to catch. I would like to show him the beauty of the area as well as the beauty of the fish. We will be fishing from early morninig till just after midday.
Thanks for any advice.

I'd personally hike him about an hour above Elkmont, and have a handfull of caddis flies and some parachute adams, all size 16, keeps it simple.

Scope out Byron's fishing report for flies. I' ve always liked the stretch from the Little River road up to Elkmont. It's gonna depend on the water level though. Again Byron's report will clue you in on whether to fish farther up the streams. I've always like a March Brown for a starter fly. I also tie it with a white wing and use that if it is cloudy.

You might try some streams that have brook trout...West Prong of the Little Pigeon or over at Greenbrier would both have willing trout...
