My buddy Tom and I went over to Chilhowee Saturday morning to get away from the crowds of tubers and fishermen we knew would be gathering on the little river. We paddled up to Abrams creek inlet and fished back. The weather was great, a very slight breeze off and on and very humid but great for canoe/kayak fishing the cool waters of the lake.
We caught several smallmouth, biggest about 15", and redbreast on topwater. As the sun climbed higher in the sky, largemouth bass were hitting mini stealth bombers cast into shady overhangs along the banks.
Great day to be on the water.
