Default North River Brookies?

Heading up to the North River in the morning, hoping to get on the stream by 7:30 in the morning or so. Wild So. Strain Specs sound perfect... Don't know how far up to go to get to the Brookies. North River Rd. off of Tellico Rd. eventually makes a curve and crosses Sugar Cove Branch... Are there any Specs in Sugar Cove? Sugar Cove is the headwaters of the North.

Any streams containing wild Brookies along the Cherohala Skyway?

Thanks in Advance,

Tar Heel

There used to be brookies in Sugar Cove Branch when I used to fish it regularly in the mid to late 1990s. I am sure they are still there. It has a very low volume this time of year and can be hard to fish. It is a beautiful stream with a gorgeous cascase a few hundred yards up from the road crossing. It is definitely worth checking out.
