HD Digital Movie Camera
Any suggestions? What can I get for less than $400? Do I have to spend more to get something I can make high quality movies with? Do they come with editing software?

BRF,
I recently went through this with my wife. She wanted something for less than $400 and good quality for recording the little guy. Most HD camcorders that I found of decent quality were around $700. However, we found a deal at HHGregg and they had a 1440 x 1080 HD cam by JVC on clearance for $400. We bought it and have been very pleased with it. I actually have a sample video posted on the top of my blog from it. My wife took this video and she shoots everything in full auto, whereas I manually adjust all the settings to optimize quality. It did come with editing software, and it is very user friendly. JVC Everio GZ-HD10
