possible classic rod & reel

This is just a small rod and reel that I picked up at an auction this past week. The rod is a 6 1/2 ft 5wt wright & mcgill eagle claw and the reel is a medalist 1595 RC. Would you consider this combo to be a classic or just a pile of junk? I only gave $27 for both.
