It is better to have both. I have had both a pedal and a remote replaced due to failure. The good news is there is a Minn Kota warranty center in Friendsville (a shop next to the owners house). The guy is great to deal with. I dropped mine off for him to diagnose, and he called me the same day that he had found the problem, and had pedals and remotes in stock, both covered under warranty. The pedal has small projections on the bottom to keep it from sliding on carpet, so I nipped them off and glued some non skid foam on the bottom. The cord is 18 feet long, so you can run it from anywhere in the boat, which is handy if you have someone in the boat who has not mastered "casting the big weighted fly". Better to have them up front! As for the 60" shaft, tall boat, tall guy, long fish, etc.
Be sure to get some spare batteries for the remote also. |

Hello All, Thought I'd try to post a pic of our "FAMILY" boat as my wife calls it. Of course my daughter says it's hers.

Carolina Boy, It's called a Talon F-20. There were only 8 made from the company in Sarasota, FL in '95. Poles pretty easy with three fat boys in 6" water. I'll answer the most fequent asked question: somewhere between 25-30 MPH
. Flyred, ThanksHerb |
