Have not been to the Holston below Cherokee and was looking to drive up and wade at low water. Can anyone provide some coaching on where and what to fish with this time of year? Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

It is probably best to stay out of the Holston until February, when the water cools back off.

Thanks Waterwolf. I'm surprised it takes that long to cool back down but glad I won't be making the drive for naught.

Lake turnover is the main issue right now, it should turn itself around in a no time. If it gets really cold then December can be okay, if not then it is usually a little later. Good luck when you get out.

Just got back from the Holston right below the dam. There were hatches just about everywhere. Fish were rising aplenty. Lots of activity, might go back sunday!
