Question What weight rod?

I currently have a 5wt Temple Fork Professional Series rod, which is a huge step up from the all in one Walmart rig I started with in June. I have gotten hooked on fishing the Catch and Release Section of Raven Fork for those huge fish, and in spring I will be lake fishing with my fiance (will be wife by that time). I am afraid of breaking my 5 wt on the over 20in. trout over there and bass in the lake. I was thinking of getting a 7wt TFO TiCrX in 9-10ft so that I have some more room to horse the fish around a little. Please give suggestion on what weight and length rod I should get. My current rod is 8.5 ft, and if I change I would like to go up.
