inquiring minds would like to know.
John, Thanks again for the pictures, what a resource.
I have had the opportunity to fish the Trophy section last year a couple of times and had a great time. But since I live about 5 hours away I dont get to hear all the news. I have seen on a couple posts people commenting on some upcoming changes possible. Would anyone be willing to share the rumors.

Trophy Section
Nice fish! That first one is truly a pig! Fins look awfully good one those fish a well.
Am I right in thinking that the trophy section is about 2 miles of water? Thanks, John

Thanks. I believe it is 2.2 miles, and is rumored to grow a mile or two very soon. I hope it does, because it will be next winter before I can find a spot to get in if it is as crowded as last summer.

Actually it is the hope that it grows 2 miles and then the state grants an extra 2 miles making 4 total, and they may stock with a interesting breed of fish, not a bow, brown or brookie.

4 more miles would be really nice. Not a bow, brown, or brookie.........amd they already have goldens.............What are they going to do, put something wild like the hybrid tiger trout or something

Nope not a tiger trout, they are apparently trying to get the Cherokee Nation to donate an extra 2 miles or so and then the state of NC to donate an extra 2 miles as well, I am not sure how the govt side of this proposal works.

I hope they go upstream with it. I don't want to be fishing downtown with people watching make ugly casts and over ambitious hooksets that find me tangled in a tree.

I have been told it would be a strech in the birdtown area, which is (I think) sort of down and behind the burger king headed towards the road that goes towards I-23/74

OK, I went up there today and they closed the road on me; seems like the snow coming down was too bad or something...
