Default North GA

Heu guys, been lurking around here for awhile, finally decided to join. I'm a teacher/football coach from North GA.I fish mainly the North GA area (small headwaters, big tailraces, and everything in between), but fish GSMNP a few times a year. Picked up a flyrod about 8 months ago and haven't put it down. Been tying for 3 months as well. Look forward to learning from you guys here.

Welcome CB86! I've got a co-worker with a cabin down on the Hiwassee. He's wanting to take me to fish the Jack's River in the Cohutta Wilderness Area. You ever fish this river?

CB86--A hearty welcome and I would note that the SE Conclave of the FFF is going to be in your part of the world come the first weekend in June. I'll be speaking and have a booth Maybe I'll meet you there.

Default Jack's

Yes, I have fished Jacks. it's been kind off the past couple of years in terms of numbers, I think it's due to drought type weather we've had (water seems to warm up easily), but there are some NICE fish in the river. It gets no stocking and hasn't since the 60's. Pretty tough fishing, but it can be very rewarding.

Nice! I was wondering if it was even worth the time since he was right on the hiwassee. Sounds like it will be. Thanks for the info and welcome!
