I have to admit, any time I foul hook a fish I'm a little bummed. It's always nice to bring a fish in and know that I've 'caught' one, but I always wonder why the hook isn't in the mouth...did I miss the initial strike and set the hook too late or did my hook just happen to snag the fish...unless it was a topwater strike, I never really know. Just my personal opinion...

I got no beef with foul hooking. I fish in hand is a caught fish! Now, I'm not talking about the practice of "lining" fish that is common on salmon runs... that's another subject all together.
