Default Question About #59 and #58 Deep Creek

Is #59 and/or #58 easily accessible to the water? I'm not so much worried about getting down to fish, but when making trips for cooking and drinking water, I have no desire to "billy goat" up and down a ridge.

Any opinions on which site is better?

They are both right on the water no ridge to walk up or down. I personally like 56 burnt spruce or 57 bryson place better and they are on the water too. I think all of those are about the same though single bear hang at each and 3 or 4 spots for tents right near the water.

Crockett and Ifishforwildtrout--All the campsites on Deep Creek are quite close to the stream. While the Bryson Place is a beautiful setting which has given me many a night of pleasure, I would disagree with Crockett on its overall salubrious nature to a certain degree. It is a favored horse campsite for locals, and to me horses have lots of negatives-smell, noise, deer flies present, badly disturbed ground, and sad to say, I fear that too large a portion of those who use them are not decent stewards of the good earth. I'd recommend choosing sites where horses are not permitted, not only on Deep Creek but in general.

Thak you both for your responses. I can study the maps all day but that wont tell me the answer to the question I asked. Thanks again.

It looks like #59 for me.

ifish4wildtrout--I think that's a fine choice. You'll be right in the middle of some of the finest fishing Deep Creek has to offer.
