Allen Fly Fishing makes a reel that is made in America, I believe. Thinking of buying one because of it. The rest of my stuff I get at LRO and Tims in Lynchburg.

Ross Reels' CLA, Evolution LT, F1, Momentum LT, and Vexis are Made in the USA. The Flyrise and Flystart, labeled as Ross Worldwide, are made overseas.

Teton Reels, which liquidated in 2008 and was purchased in 2009, are Made in the USA.

R.L. Winston's Boron IIt, Boron II-MX, GVX, Boron IIIX, LT, WT, and Bamboo rods are made in Twin Bridges, Montana. I believe that the LT and WT are only available now by special order only. The Winston VSL and Passport rods are made overseas.

Nautilus reels are made in Florida.

As far as I know, TFO stuff has always been made overseas and it hasn't exactly been a secret. I don't really see how that is a slap in the face. The rods, and I think the reels, are made in South Korea instead of China if it makes you feel any better.

A good portion of high quality fly fishing gear is still made here.

Look on the label. Country of origin is on the box or on the label. As said here, much fly fishing gear is still made here.

The stuff from Ross that is made overseas is branded Ross Worldwide.

Hope this helps.

Speaking of Orvis, their reels were made in England. Private label by British Fly Reels in Falmouth, They closed shop about five years ago and production moved to China.

Sage is the only major rod company with no overseas production at this time. However, they are in that market with their Redington line. If you don't have rods at all price points you will not be a major player.
