That's a great story, thanks.

Now I see what you were after. I have done the same as you watched waited and then made my move.

Not to upstage or detract from your post but On Slough Creek in YNP I fished for one big boy for two days, yup two days before I hooked him. He broke me off but that was just fine. I had accomplished the task.

I admire your dedication in fishing two days for a single bite. Simply hooking that fish was a victory to you and that is what it’s all about. I am sure when you were broke off that you were disappointed but, soon realized what an accomplishment that you had actually achieved. When a person can find the joy in a moment of defeat that person truly enjoys what they are doing.

The more that I think and type about this subject the greater the chances of my making Byron and Paula happy by dropping some greenbacks on a new “trophy” trout set up. I have wanted a 7wt for the purpose of fishing for bass and lobbing those big flies anyways.
