Default Dale Hollow trip

Sorry about a late report, but we fished Dale Hollow from the 13-17th and did okay. Most of my fish were caught on a Clouser in black, gray and white with a couple on a Deceiver. Caught my largest spotted bass ever, 19 1/2 inches long. Not sure what it weighed.

Also caught some decent smallies, here are a couple of photos

When we got there the water was already up pretty high and we got an all day monsoon on Friday that brought it up about 5 feet over night. Water temps were right at 60 degrees and we were fishing right before the full moon so I am assuming the big smallies were spawning. Fish were really scattered more than usual. We fished coves in Hendricks Creek and the Poor Branch area. Most of our fish were near the timber but not really in it. I was throwing my fly in the timber and stripping it out quickly. They seemed to be relating to the wood cover but not actually in it.
