Old friends, new twist
Great friend from CO came in for my son's wedding this weekend. We fished today at Nance's Ferry on the Holston. Only two small trout(more than I expected) but we managed 6 smallies. Best one about 16".
BTW. This is Andrew Betts who is John Betts's son. For those of you just starting out in flytying John was the inventor of Z-lon, and microfibetts. Great stories on how he came across the material and how he manufactured this stuff in his basement for years. One of the original synthetic fly tyers. The holston is such a good smallmouth fishery. I wish it was regulated as a trophy smallmouth destination rather than wasting so much money stocking all those sickly looking rainbows that get dumped in there.
