Cursor freezing up!

Having a problem- I find that the cursor freezes up on the board posts. The only way I can change anything is to click/drag and retype the words I need to change. Any help is appreciated. New Compaq Presario computer and Charter internet service.

Yep, still having problems. I'm getting the same thing with my email sometimes. I can't move the cursor with any key- I have to highlight and type over to change anything. Just did it again!!!! When writing an email, sometimes I can't change lines with the enter key. Very frustrating! If it keep up, I'm going to Staples and see what they can do. Now I got the blue line!!!!!!!

Hi John,

I would try a different mouse. I use a wireless rodent and when the batteries get weak the cursor does not move well. I have had mice just go bad for some reason. I use Macs and don't know much about PCs. But it sounds to me like a mouse or other hardware problem. If you are using the touch pad, maybe something is wrong with it. This is a new computer right? Maybe it needs to go back to the store where you bought it.

I truly think you have a browser hijack. You will notice a hesitation in emails, webscripts with inputs, forum typing, etc. Download the program in my link and run it. I am pretty sure this will take care of your problem. It is called HijackThis and it is free. Also; CNET is a reputable down-loader. I have experienced this issue before as well. You will be amazed at how it increases your websurfing as well if this is the issue.

Still having problems. Signed on Cnet. Freezing doesn't happen on just a couple of sites and composing email. It's doing it now. The only way I can get it to move is to highlight a blue line, hit space bar and start over. Very frustrating!!!!!

I am pretty sure you have a browser hijack or some kind of malware.

It may be a little easier to use than HijackThis. Note; you have to select for removal items found after scanning with HijackThis. Use the information tool to identify the items that you can remove safely if you use it.

Also; search for Malwarebytes and download/run it. It is a fabulous freeware program.

I like cwshredder for cleaning temporary files and cleaning system registry.

If you are not using Mozilla Firefox for a web-browser; I would look in to downloading and using it instead of Internet Explorer. Just a preference thing for me.
