Hello all, I am planning on fishing the Tellico this Friday like I do every year after Thanksgiving and I need some info. Has anyone fished it lately and how did it go? I usually fish from Turkey Creek on down. I know we have had some rain over here( Mid Tenn) and I was wondering about the water quality over there-clear, stained,etc.. I can always fish the North or Bald if need be. Thanks for any help before I head over to Knoxville. Mark

I fished it last Friday. It was lightly stained, and at a high but very fishable level (1.8 on Tellico guage). I fished an hour and a half after a whitewater run, and I had one bite and that was it
![]() Right now the Tellico is getting ready to spike. If this is all the rain we get, it should be back to a fishable level by Friday. I would look for anything under 2 feet being good to go. |

Duckypaddler, Thanks for your help. I will plan on the Tellico and if the conditions are so-so at least I'll have a good day outside anyway. Thanks again, Mark

Level is still 2.4 and I'd guess will be above 2 feet tomorrow. You may be better off hitting the feeder streams.
If the fishing is no good, I'm sure you can watch the kayakers at Baby Falls ![]() |
