Default Hiking question

All,

not sure where to post this so i just assume "smoky mountain fishing" gets the most views. I am planning on doing a moderate to difficult hike this weekend with a few friends. We were thinking of heading to the Cherokee Forrest to do Bob Stratton Bald off the
Cherohala Skyway. Any body ever hiked this or know any other good high-elevation hikes with vistas? We have covered most of the trails in the Smokys. Im worried trails in Cherokee may not get the traffic that the GSM gets therefore the trails might be hard to negotiate or unmaintained (like slick rock up from calderwood). We would really like to find some snow but it may all be gone by then. We would really like to do the Hemphill bald trail up from Maggie Vally in NC but the road is closed now .

Just looking for help or ideas. Thanks in advance!

Here are some pics from Greggorys bald last year (i apologize if i have already posted a few of these)
