Hi Andy,
This is great to hear!. If you get into town on Saturday and you have enough time to come to Troutfest, look me up. I'll be tying from 1:00-5:00PM and if you can find me I'll turn the vise over to you for awhile. I think you will get a good crowd both days. Have a safe trip down and good tying to you at your upcoming events. Hugh |

Sounds great Andy. I had hoped someone would by tying the Ray Bergman style flies. There is a certain Bergman pattern that shares my last name that I hope you can tell me a little more about. See you there.

Would any hobby shops like Hobby Lobby have orange feathers? I was on our local store and wondered what could be used for tying- feathers, fur, fake fur, etc.

Knothead-
Yes, yes, and yes! Hobby Lobby, Michaels, JoAnn Fabrics have all kinds of stuff that us fly tyiers can use such as feathers, beads, stretch cord, small diameter vinyl tubing, yarns, furs, craft furs, etc. etc. This is not a diss on LRO or any other fly shop. Lord knows I spend a ton of money at my local fly shops, so I feel that I am supporting them. But the craft stores do have some items that can be attached to fly hooks. Just roam the aisles and let your imagination run freely. |

kentuckytroutbum, I know what you are saying and agree with you. However, Hobby Lobby is two miles away; LRO is 88 miles away. I do try to patronize LRO when in the area. We are all aware of what great folks are at LRO! And the coffee is good.
