I apologize if this has been posted before, but I happened upon this 2008 article on the drawdown of Chilhowee Lake for repairs. Very interesting photos.

Rather interesting story and photos. Thanks. I saw the building of a new lake in Zanesville, OH back in the early 60's. Dillon Lake was peeled down to the dirt. Die-hard anglers walked around the lake and took pictures for reference after filling. Now, we use digital video cameras to record the bottom and structures.

A buddy and I put a canoe in at the Abrams Creek launch in mid October that year and spent the day throwing Rapalas along the banks. Without a doubt, it was the best day I ever had on Chilhowee. I came away with four smallmouth, smallest was 3 pounds, largest was just over five. If my buddy hadn't tried to net the last one tail first (duh!) I would have limited out that day. We went back a week later and got skunked!
